At Information Builders, we take great pride in helping clients around the world deliver better data and better analytics to more people, so they can make better decisions. In addition, we believe in improving the local and global communities that are home to our worldwide offices.

Headquartered in The Big Apple, we were especially pleased to recently volunteer with Coalition for the Homeless (CFH). CFH is the nation’s oldest advocacy and direct service organization helping homeless men, women, and children. Their efforts give voice and hope to the most marginalized among us.

A short time ago, we joined forces with CFH and a group of us served dinner as part of their Grand Central Food Program (GCFP), which has grown to become the largest mobile soup kitchen in New York. Each week, GCFP delivers healthy meals of hot stew, bread, fresh fruit, and juice or milk to those struggling to survive on the streets of the city. For many homeless New Yorkers, this is their only meal of the day.

By any measure, GCFP’s stats are impressive and show they are making a difference:

·       GCFP has distributed more than six million meals and has never missed a single night of operation.

·       The group’s volunteers usually commit to one day per week.

·       Approximately 1,000 homeless and hungry men, women, and children on the streets of NYC are served every night by GCFP.

Interested in getting involved with CFH? Take action. Here are a couple more of their programs we’ll be involved in during the upcoming months: Project: Back to School and the Holiday Toy Drive.

Check them out and make a difference today!
