We’re also talking a lot about the connected world – with more data, more devices, more protocols than ever before, how can we use data and analytics to bring it all together in transformative ways. What are the opportunities in both short and long term? At the iWay MeetUp today we talked about new extensions to the set of connectors we offer to integrate data and systems and make it faster and easier to deploy without writing code. This robust connectivity is essential to harness the power of IoT. Our customers are leading the way with really cool – and life-changing –applications for smart cities, smart warehouses, smart healthcare, smart policing, smart transportation – everything gets smarter when it’s more connected.
One way to simplify and streamline connectivity for data management and analytics environments is through the cloud. On that note, we issued an important announcement today on our relationship with Amazon Web Services (AWS). We’ve expanded to become a Consulting Partner in the AWS Partner Network (APN) and are proud to be one of the first independent software vendors to subscribe to AWS Managed Services. Our customers will be able to take advantage of simplified, end-to-end, cloud-based, and fully managed business intelligence, data integrity, and integration solutions, powered by AWS in our cloud. They are here at Summit and we are looking forward to working together on a deeper level.
Today was technically a pre-conference day on the agenda with educational courses and some warm-up sessions. It was a full day and all of the early sessions were packed with folks eager to get hands on and start learning right away. Area receptions were a chance for regional staff to connect with local customers. We ended the day with a grand tour of the Solutions Pavilion with our partners showcasing their stuff and having some great conversations with attendees. Our partners are using our technology to create some compelling and complementary solutions, such as accelerating IoT initiatives, radically improving the customer experience, and automated data preparation.
Everyone enjoyed a delicious dinner and had a chance to relax and get to know one another. There were lots of fun photos in crazy get-ups and the most intricate balloon art I have ever seen. See the photos in the gallery if you want proof!
A magician wowed the crowds with tricks and his name is also Terry White (spelled with a Y…what are the chances??) Maybe he can write the blog tomorrow and I can make a rabbit jump out of a hat!
This morning (after sunrise yoga for some of us!) we head to the keynotes in the general session and hear from COO Frank Vella and CEO Gerry Cohen. This will be Frank’s first Summit and we are all excited for him to take the stage and lay out the strategic direction for our company and our analytics and data management products. He will also discuss key industry trends such as artificial intelligence, IoT, and Blockchain, and how we will be helping our customers to leverage them effectively. Gerry will share exciting product developments and demonstrations. Watch them both live on Facebook or IBTV, Wednesday May 23, from 8:45-11am EDT!
Stay tuned for more magic tomorrow.
